TranscriptCleaner ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you visit transcriptcleaner.org (the “Site”) or use our embedded transcript‑cleaning widget (the “Service”).

1. Information we collect

Usage data. Anonymous analytics (page views, referrers, device type) gathered via privacy‑friendly Plausible Analytics.
Advertising identifiers. Google AdSense and its partners use cookies or mobile identifiers to serve ads and measure their effectiveness.
Transcript content. When you click Clean Transcript, your raw text is sent over HTTPS to our backend, forwarded to OpenAI’s API for processing, and discarded from our servers within five minutes of delivery back to you. We do not log or store transcripts; OpenAI retains the content per its abuse‑monitoring policy and does not use it to train their models for paid API traffic.

2. Cookies & Google AdSense

The Site displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites.

Opt‑out: You may disable personalised advertising by visiting Ads Settings or any ad‑settings tool required by your region’s privacy laws. We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where supported.

3. Legal bases & regional compliance

For visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland we obtain consent via an IAB TCF v2.2 banner before loading cookies. For California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other U.S. privacy laws we offer a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link that triggers Google’s Restricted Data Processing.

4. How we use information

To process and clean transcripts at your request.
To display advertising and measure its performance (consent).
To monitor aggregate usage and detect abuse (legitimate interest).

5. Data sharing

We do not sell personal data. Limited data is shared only with:

Google LLC – ad delivery & measurement.
OpenAI LLC – transcript processing (ephemeral; see §1).

6. Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Backend access and environment variables (OPENAI_API_KEY) are protected by least‑privilege IAM and 2‑factor authentication.

7. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, email us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy occasionally. Any revisions will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
